Deception Circle Community- Oak Harbor Whidbey Island
Welcome to the Deception Circle Community, located north of the charming town of Oak Harbor on beautiful Whidbey Island! This neighborhood is known for its stunning natural scenery, friendly neighbors, and…well, a bit of deception, as the name suggests. Speaking of history, did you know that Oak Harbor was originally founded as a naval air station during World War II? That’s right, this town has a rich military heritage, and you can still see the impact of that today.
The naval base is still active and is a major employer in the area, and you’ll often see sailors in their crisp uniforms around town. But back to Deception Circle. This community is a great place to live if you’re looking for a friendly neighborhood with a bit of character. The homes here range from cozy bungalows to spacious family houses, so there’s something for everyone. And because it’s a relatively small community, you’ll quickly get to know your neighbors and feel like part of the family.
One of the best things about living in Deception Circle is the location. Whidbey Island is a beautiful place to call home, with beaches, parks, and hiking trails all within easy reach. And because Oak Harbor is located on the north end of the island, you can easily get to the mainland without a ferry and explore all that the area has to offer. One of my favorite things about Deception Circle is the sense of community. People here are really friendly and always willing to lend a hand. Whether it’s helping you move a couch or bringing over a plate of cookies to welcome you to the neighborhood, you’ll feel right at home here.
If you’re looking for something to do, there’s always something happening in Oak Harbor. From the annual Holland Happening festival (where you can watch traditional Dutch dancing and eat delicious stroopwafels) to the farmers market, there’s always something fun to do. Plus, with Seattle just a short ferry ride away, you can easily take a day trip to explore the big city. But honestly, most of the time you’ll probably just want to kick back and enjoy the peacefulness of island life. Maybe take a stroll through Deception Pass State Park (which, fun fact, is actually named after the channel between Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands, not our community). Or pack a picnic and head to one of the island’s many beaches for a day of relaxation. Overall, I would highly recommend Deception Circle to anyone looking for a unique and welcoming community on beautiful Whidbey Island.
Deception Circle is home to a variety of different types of houses, so you’re sure to find something that fits your style and needs. If you’re looking for a cozy little bungalow, there are several on the circle that might catch your eye. These charming homes are perfect for singles, couples, or small families who want a low-maintenance space that’s still comfortable and welcoming. On the other hand, if you need a bit more space, there are also plenty of larger homes in Deception Circle that might be more your speed. These houses often have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as plenty of space for entertaining or relaxing with family. One thing you’ll notice about the homes in Deception Circle is that they often have a lot of outdoor space. Because the community is so unique, many of the houses reflect that quirkiness in their design or decor. For example, you might see a house with a whimsical garden or one with a bright and colorful paint job. Overall, the homes in Deception Circle are a great mix of styles and sizes, so you’re sure to find something that fits your needs and budget.
