I am known for my high-energy, integrity, with emphasis on attention to detail, and personal accountability. Before obtaining my real estate license, I renovated homes.
I redirected my career from home renovation to residential real estate with a dream of combining my remodeling - construction skills with a passion for working within my community. I made a career renovating houses out of the desire to be a stay at home mom and the need to renovate the houses we inhabited so they fit our family’s needs and styles. I love all styles of homes, each style being unique and a fun challenge. I have personally renovated from top to bottom a 1901 Queen Anne, Frank Lloyd style, colonial, and numerous ranch ramblers. I fuse my love of art and the personal joy of using my own hands and elbow grease to increase equity to restore homes to their former glory or give them a new lease on life. This experience has given me a great background in finding creative solutions to make my homes special.
The beauty of Whidbey Island is what brought my family here. After living on two Native American Reservations in Montana and South Dakota we were ready to be surrounded by constant beauty (that’s not 36 degrees below zero) and become part of a vibrant community. I fell in love with Whidbey Island and island life while on a cycling tour from Montana to Washington. The island was simply magical and the people are absolutely wonderful. My family and I live for being outdoors and on the move. You can find us crabbing from our kayaks, cycling across the islands, hiking up Mt. Baker or skiing when we can find snow.
Where to start? I enjoy giving my time freely to community organizations. My favorites being dog rescue; my family and I have been a foster family for over 30 cats and dogs (yes, you can be foster parents to a four legged, fur baby. Another favorite is Habitat for Humanity. I love using my knowledge of power tools to teach other female volunteers how to use table saws, drills and tape measures. Everything that is needed on a build site. Other favorites are school organizations such as PTA and mentor reading programs.
I have found that Whidbey Island and Windermere offer many opportunities for me to give back to my local community and I have been doing so since arriving here. As if the great feeling you get from volunteering wasn’t reward enough, I just received the “I Am Realtor” award from the North Puget Sound Assoc. of Realtors. This award is given to realtors who are actively involved in the REALTOR® association and their local community. I am honored to receive this recognition for things I love to do.
